Large void-fill pillows are the answer when the box is big and the product is not. Oversized cartons, dropship furniture parts, apparel in roomy mailers, and multi-item orders often leave cavities that would take a handful of standard pillows to close. One or two 8×12″ or 12×12″ pillows do the same job in a single motion, which is faster at the station and uses less film overall to fill more cubic inches of space.

The trade-off with any large air chamber is that it holds more air under more pressure, so a thin film will bulge and eventually blow out. That is why these run on a heavier 28 to 35 micron gauge. The extra wall strength is what separates a purpose-built large pillow from a standard pillow that has simply been made bigger, and it is the reason the cushion survives stacking, drop, and the squeeze of a full trailer rather than deflating on the way. Fewer, tougher pillows per carton is the whole point.

Large formats are also the best canvas for print. A 12-inch face has room for a complete logo lockup, a tagline, or a bold repeating mark that is unmistakable the moment the flaps open, which makes these pillows work as hard for the brand as they do for the product. Because they are individually perforated, packers still tear exactly what a given box needs without dragging extra material out of the case.
